We are based in the US. You can definitely put your keys in the pocket as long as you don't have anything real sharp on there...but then you wouldn't put real sharp things that close to your femoral artery anyway right! I put matches, a lighter and hard candy in the waterproof bags. Everything came out perfectly dry, even after the rapids. I'm very happy. The shorts were totally comfortable and dried quickly. Most women's swimwear does not allow for a pocket large enough to hold the waterproof bag so that is why we have not produced them yet.
